Rich Harvey was born in Castlecrag, Sydney in 1969, just before man landed on the moon. Raised in a loving family, Rich was taught the values of respect, tenacity and doing your best. Rich’s mum fostered his love of the outdoors, bushwalks, swimming, cycling and tennis, while his dad enjoyed teaching him the finer points of golf, cabinet making and literature, while instilling a strong worth ethic in him.

Studying at Macquarie University, Rich completed an economics degree while building his first business in lawn mowing and gardening.

After spending a few years working for the Minister for Transport, Rich returned to university to complete a Masters Degree in Economics. He then worked as Senior Economist at the Environment Protection Authority.

Desiring a better life for his family, Rich found a passion for property and started investing. He soon realised he could make more money in real estate than in his day job and began teaching others how to invest in property. In 2001, Rich started an independent buyers agency, propertybuyer which assists home buyers, investors, commercial buyers and developers.

Since founding propertybuyer, Rich has won over 30 major awards, including the prestigious National Telstra Business Award for best small business in Australia. Rich is also an nine-time winner in the REINSW Buyers Agent ‘Award for Excellence’.

Rich and his team at propertybuyer have purchased over 2800 properties. He is a regular commentator on Sky Business, Financial Review, Domain, property shows and is the expert buyers agent on the TV series Buying Blind.

When he is not buying property, Rich loves spending time with his wife and teenage boys wakeboarding, water skiing, surfing or any taking part in other adrenaline raising activity.
